Daydreams are the most common form of altered consciousness. It enables us to quickly move into an altered state at almost any time. We can shift from alert consciousness to wandering daydream in a blink of an eye. Daydreams are not typically a complete exclusion from the outside world but are a focus inward on our thoughts and imagined experiences. It takes us away from pressures and stress. It even motivates us to accomplish goals faster. Sometimes it might help with clearing your mind from all the negativity or problems going on in your life. Daydreaming, wandering mind can be a good thing, if you let it. It opens your mind; you start to mix reality with fantasies. You’re visioning and feeling inside how you want your life to be and goals you want to accomplish. But those daydreams that occur throughout your day can happen. If you can see and feel yourself doing it, you obviously can do it! Those visions’, imaginations that your wandering mind creates is you focusing on yourself and something you truly want in life. Why not go for it than? If you can daydream it, you can do it. If you can imagine yourself where you want to be in reality, you can take action and make that daydream become your future. Always think to yourself, if you can see yourself there, you can be there.
Begin to make your dream come to reality. First thought, what does your dream consist of? Research this dream and gain knowledge on what needs to be done. What steps do you need to take? For example if your dream is to become involved in rentals, you’re going to need to know every aspect and gain as much knowledge as possible on the steps of succeeding in this business. Learning is power. The more you know about a subject the more you understand what it takes to be successful. Start by setting up short term goals that are doable with a reasonable time frame. Don’t put too much on your plate or you could become overwhelmed and unmotivated. Beware! You may experience moments of helplessness or feel as if things are not moving fast enough. Remember there might be delays or problems that come up that get in the way of you accomplishing your goals. Just know you have nothing but time. Use every mistake as a lesson and not an excuse to give up.
My dream is to become a model. To do that I know I need to work on myself, update portfolios, travel and reach out to agencies. Well, my first short-term goal involves maintaining the weight I want to be. I’ve created a meal plan so I can intake enough calories and protein a day. I started a workout routine this week. I even have a gym partner, which is nice for even more motivation. I have four months to get fit and gain muscle. When summer arrives, I will start putting together a portfolio. I will look into different photographers and might even take advantage of some of my photographer friends’ services. From these, I’ll choose the top five pictures. Finally taking action, I will look into what type of modeling I wanted to do, different magazine opportunities and what agencies suit me best. I’m planning on traveling to three different big cities to speak with different agencies and hopefully get in with one. I know if I don’t get a deal with the first agency I go to that there are plenty more that might just give me a chance. Remember to keep a positive side to any negativity that comes your way. It all depends on how you look at the situation.
Remember to decide and believe, release your fear, take action and use others success as inspiration.
When we were kids we would have all these crazy, big dreams we wanted to come true. You might have dreamt of traveling the world, starting a business, becoming a professional football player or even modeling for the biggest agency out there. Whatever you dreamed of, you were determined to go for it. But how many people can say they made their dreams come to reality? Many times we dreamed and thought of all the adventures and goals we want to accomplish in life, but never brought them to fruition. So, they become fantasies in our mind, not reality. What’s holding you back from making something you’re passionate about happen? Sometimes we are afraid of the unknown and don’t want to get out of our comfort zone. Maybe you became discouraged when your first attempt failed. Did something or someone intimidate you and made you feel small inside? If you gave up on your dream, I’m here to encourage you to figure out the reason why. The biggest regret in life could be not continuing what you once started.
I’ve been there. My dream is to be a model. I’ve made multiple portfolios and was even given a chance to sign up with an agency in Atlanta, GA. I was a teenager when that opportunity came, and my mother wouldn’t take me. It was only a six-hour drive, chance for my dream to come true! After that disappointment. I felt I would never get another chance. Every year I would tell myself “I’m going to go for it now that I’m older” but I never tried. I took photos, made portfolios but failed to follow through and never sent these to any agencies. Now I’m 22, I’ve come to realization that I shouldn’t give up because I feel discourage about not being good enough for another agency or playing the “what if” game. I know if I don’t keep trying and learning from my failures along the way on this journey, I will regret it. The hardest challenge is staying motivated after you been knocked down. My advice is to sit down, learn from what went wrong and change it for the next opportunity. It’s not bad to make mistakes or fail if your LEARN from these mistakes or failures. You have one life, one chance to live it to the fullest. Don’t let it go to waste by the negativity. Get up and smile with optimism as you take the first step to experiencing your childhood dream come true.
